Natural Products for Your Pet
So many of our guests, like us, prefer to use natural options for our beloved pets whenever possible. Essential oils are one of the easiest and most effective ways of helping your pet stay healthy, calm and pest free without adding extra chemicals to their environment. Of course, nothing is a substitute for great veterinary care, but for everyday help, essential oils are a great fit for your pet.
Because there are some essential oils that are not good for pets, we wanted to find the best products that are formulated just for your pet using the right combinations and ingredients for their well-being.
Young Living's Animal Scents are exactly what we were looking for and here are a few helpful tips on making sure your pet gets the most benefits from them.
Product Descriptions and Uses:
Animal Scents Shampoo: This gentle shampoo enriches your pet's skin and coat while leaving them clean and smelling great all without the harmful ingredients others have. Infused with citronella, geranium and lavender, your pet will love this as much as you do.
Animal Scents Ointment: Like kids, pets tend to get the occasional knick or scratch while playing. Use Animal Scents Ointment topically as a soothing and protective coating to help the skin heal quickly and safely.
Animal Scents Dental Pet Chews: Give your dog a healthy, tasty and beneficial treat that will help remove buildup on their teeth with no artificial colors or flavors. These chews are fortified with Green tea extract and Rosemary for your pet's health. For pets under 20 lbs, give 1/2 a chew twice a week and for pets more than 20 lbs, give two chews per week.
RepelAroma: helps keep pests away from your pet
T-Away: helps your pet stay calm in stressful situations
PuriClean: freshens and helps skin stay clean
InfectAway: supports healthy skin and coats
Mendwell: good for skin and can be used with PuriClean and InfectAway for a total skin health system
ParaGize: Help your pup's tummy when they aren't feeling their best.
Safely using the essential oils and products on your pet:
Start Small: Essential oils are very concentrated natural compounds making them very potent. Because animals have very keen senses of smell and their systems are very sensitive, we recommend starting your pet slowly by diluting a drop or two with water or coconut oil and see how your pet reacts. You can then gradually increase by a drop at a time until you achieve the desired result.
Use Safely: Some of the best ways to administer the natural oils are to first start some on the pads of their paws or to rub it on your hands and then stroke it or pet it on your pet's fur. It is important to not get the oils near their nose, eyes or mouth. Remember that a dog's sense of smell is 40 times stronger than ours so something that smells mild to you can be too strong for them.
